Slice and wedge cutter FS-3600

The FS-3600 is the best choice in its category and is available in two versions – MultiCut and MultiSystem. This machine effortlessly cuts fruit into wedges (with or without coring), (half) slices, or cubes. Typical applications include apples, lemons, oranges, melons, and kiwi.

This machine sets the standard in versatility, functionality, high capacity, and premium cutting results.

The operator manually places the product(s) at the infeed station (up to two at a time). The rotating plate moves to the cutting position, where pushers guide the product through the knives. The discharge chute transfers the cut product onto the conveyor and separates ends and cores if required.

Various cutting sets, conveyors, and belt types provide many options to make the production process more efficient and versatile.

The most advanced version, the FS-3600 MultiSystem is operated via an intelligent HMI with touchscreen. Operators can easily set recipes, monitor machine performance, and view error messages. The MultiSystem also supports automatic tray filling with counting functionality, ensuring each tray is filled with a preset number of pieces. Maximum capacity is 4,000 pieces per hour.

Test before you invest!

We understand how important it is to experience a machine in practice before making a decision. You can visit one of our demo locations, join an online demonstration, or we can bring the machine to your site. If desired, we can test it with your own product so you can see for yourself how the machine performs.

Juice loss

When cutting fruit, juice would be released, which can lead to quality loss over time. Our machines are designed to minimize this by reducing mechanical stress, thanks to optimal cutting speeds and optimal knife design. This helps maintain the cell structure during cutting and is beneficial to the quality of the final product.

To further reduce juice loss, we recommend using sharp knives, correct machine settings tailored to the product type, and a low processing temperature.

Oxidation

Oxidation (discoloration) occurs when fruit - especially apples and pears - is cut and exposed to oxygen. This negatively affects both appearance and shelf life. A light treatment often helps preserve the fruit’s color and structure.

  • That’s how the FS-1500 and FS-3600 can also be expanded with a pre-soaking tank, dip flume, and inline discharge for treating products such as apples and pears.

Washing

Efficient washing – from robust to delicate fruit

Sand, pesticides, and natural contamination must be effectively removed without damaging the fruit. Sormac offers easy-to-operate fruit washers tailored to the different product characteristics: from robust, sinking products to delicate fruits requiring gentle handling.

  • The Fruit washer FW cleans both floating and sinking fruit, such as apples, peaches, plums, and melons, with a diameter between 30 and 250 mm. Maximum capacity is 2,750 kg per hour. Air injection supports intensive cleaning, making the washer versatile and easy to operate.
  • The Belt washer BW cleans a wide range of vegetables and fruit in small and medium volumes. The product is placed on a mesh belt and guided through a tunnel, where powerful sprayers from above and below ensure thorough cleaning. Recirculated water is used in the first section, while fresh water is applied in the second.
