Coring

All-in-one bell pepper processing

Coring bell peppers is a labor-intensive process. By automating this step, you can immediately improve yield, quality, and overall production efficiency. Sormac offers two advanced solutions for coring and (optionally) cutting bell peppers: the semi-automatic PepperCorer PC and the fully automatic, robotized PepperCorer Robotic PCR.

PepperCorer PC

The PepperCorer PC cores bell peppers efficiently and accurately. The machine automatically measures the length of each pepper and adjusts the coring depth accordingly, ensuring that the pepper is perfectly cored without damaging the walls. Cutting waste, including cores and seeds, is efficiently removed from the end product using a powerful vacuum unit.

The peppers can then be decapped and cut into segments. Optionally, the peppers can be processed into dices (of 25 or 30 mm), rings (up to two pieces), or wedges.

PepperCorer Robotic PCR

The fully automatic version for coring and cutting bell peppers is the PepperCorer Robotic. This advanced, robot-controlled pepper corer is designed for maximum efficiency and hygiene. The machine processes peppers in a continuous and fully automated manner, from sorting and orienting to coring and portioning.

Peeling

Hand-peeled finish with industrial efficiency

Sormac offers a range of peeling technologies, with the UP series knife peelers being particularly suited for elongated fruiting vegetables, such as cucumbers and zucchini.

Available in three versions, the UP Knife Peeler can be used as a standalone machine or integrated into a processing line. It efficiently peels elongated (fruiting) vegetables with a diameter between 20 and 65 mm.

The product is peeled in a single pass using multiple knife stations and precisely positioned blades that follow the contours of the vegetable. This ensures minimal waste and delivers a beautiful, hand-peeled appearance without flat peeling.

Sormac offers versatile semi-automatic machines for cutting fruiting vegetables for vegetable mixes, salads, mise-en-place, and other ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook applications. Our cutting machines have been proven in practice for many years. Manual slice and wedge cutters F-1000L, F-1000XL

These compact cutters are designed for table or countertop use, making them ideal for flexible operation. The F-1000L and F-1000XL can cut wedges, slices, sticks, and cubes. This range is suitable for cutting tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, and other types of fruiting vegetables. Longer products should be pre-cut before processing.

Slice and wedge cutter FS-1500

The semi-automatic FS-1500 cutter slices fruiting vegetables into wedges, slices, cubes, and sticks. The machine is designed with versatility and ease of use in mind. Depending on the product size, it can process up to two items simultaneously. Two-handed operation ensures a safe cutting process. It’s capacity is up to 1,500 pieces per hour.

The FS-1500 features a modular design and is available in multiple versions, including a wide range of options and knife sets.

Slice and wedge cutter FS-3600

The FS-3600 is the top choice in its category and is available in two versions – MultiCut and MultiSystem. This machine cuts fruiting vegetables into wedges, (half) slices, sticks, or cubes, and its typical applications include tomatoes, zucchini, and cucumbers. Depending on the desired cut, longer products may need to be pre-cut. The knife unit with coring function is also suitable for cutting cucumbers into sticks while removing the seed core.

The various cutting sets, conveyor belts, and belt types offer many options allowing efficiency and flexibility in the production process.

The FS-3600 MultiSystem is operated via an advanced HMI touchscreen. Operators can easily set recipes, monitor machine performance, and view error messages. The MultiSystem also supports automatic tray filling with counting functionality, ensuring each tray is filled with a preset number of pieces. Maximum capacity is 4,000 pieces per hour.

Belt slicer BSM-150

The Sormac Belt slicer BSM-150 is a proven solution for cutting vegetables, including cucumbers, zucchini, eggplants, and more. Typical applications for fruiting vegetables include slices, crinkle cuts, julienne, or grated vegetables.

Thanks to its 150 mm wide belt, high rotation speed, and fast belt speed, the BSM can achieve a high capacity of up to 1,500 kg per hour while maintaining a remarkably compact footprint. With various options, digitally adjustable cutting thickness, and up to 100 programmable recipes, the BSM can fully match your specifications. The machine can be used as a standalone unit or modularly integrated into a processing line, including washing and drying.
