Sormac range to expand with acquisition of German supplier Foodcons

Sormac, the leading supplier of machines, entire processing lines and turnkey solutions for the fresh-cut fruit and vegetable industry acquires a majority stake in the German food technology manufacturer Foodcons.

Established in 2004, Foodcons has grown as a respected manufacturer of its own machinery solutions as well being the official distributor of Sormac equipment for Germany and Austria. After many years of successful collaboration, with Sormac also acting as a distributor for Foodcons, it has been jointly agreed that Foodcons GmbH & Co KG will be absorbed into Sormac GmbH in the course of this year.

With the new collaboration, Sormac customers will be able to take advantage of an expanded product portfolio incorporatig Foodcons’ highly versatile machinery.

As well as its headquarters and production site in Venlo, in recent years Sormac has opened sales and service centres in both the US and the UK. Establishing Sormac GmbH in Germany is in line with Sormac’s intention to bring the company’s best-in-class technology to a much wider audience.

This strategic acquisition underscores Sormac’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Germany and Austria while continuing to deliver cutting-edge solutions to the fresh-cut fruit and vegetable industry. 

By integrating Foodcons’ expertise with Sormac’s established operations, the company is well-positioned to enhance its production capabilities, optimise service delivery and expand its global footprint. Sormac looks forward to building on this collaboration to serve its customers with even greater innovation and efficiency in the years to come.
