Carrot peelers for every capacity

The UP knife peelers are highly suitable for peeling carrots and are available in three models with different capacities. The UP-4000 is ideal for smaller lines but can also be fed manually. All models peel completely around the product and feature a quick-change knife system. The UP-6000 and UP-8000 come standard with a product counter and warning signal. The UP-4000 is a simpler model and does not include these functions. Transport rollers ensure even product infeed and are FDA approved.

Flexible knife arms

The UP peelers are equipped with 8 knife stations with flexible knife arms. These automatically adapt to the shape of the product—whether carrots, daikon radish, salsify, or cucumbers. This ensures each vegetable is peeled evenly all around. The result? A uniform peel with the appearance of hand-peeled produce.

V-belt for controlled product infeed

The V-belt guides each product smoothly into the peeling section. Products can be fed manually or via an optional stepflow singulator.

Gentle product handling

The knife peelers are equipped with FDA-approved transport rollers that gently convey the product through the machine. The rollers can be removed easily thanks to practical quick-release fasteners, allowing cleaning or maintenance to be carried out in just seconds.

For peeling carrots, Sormac has different knife peelers, depending on the desired capacity, which form a carrot peeling and piece cutting line in combination with other machines. In this setup, a UP-8000 is installed, enabling the line to process up to 8,000 pieces per hour.
