Infeed bunker ABK - Sormac

Step 1 - Infeed bunker ABK: a constant and controlled product feed

The Infeed bunker ABK ensures a uniform and controlled supply of carrots to the next processing step. Thanks to the integrated dosing conveyor, the product is fed at a constant rate, preventing peak loads and ensuring optimal utilization of the processing line capacity. The bunker can easily be filled using a bin tipper and contributes to a stable product flow throughout the entire production process.

Step 2 - Process cutter WSS: precise and consistent cutting for maximum yield

The Process cutter WSS is the following processing step in the baby carrot processing line, accurately cutting whole carrots into uniform pieces ready for further processing. A rotating spiral brush positions each carrot securely in stainless steel carrier trays before it is cut to the pre-set length by a series of rotating knives. This controlled cutting process delivers highly consistent piece sizes while minimizing product damage. By creating a uniform product flow for the grading and peeling stages, the WSS helps maximize yield, improve processing efficiency, and ensure a consistently high-quality end product.

The Grading drum DST accurately separates carrot pieces by size, ensuring that only products with the correct dimensions continue to the next processing stage. By creating a uniform product flow, the DST enables each carrot piece to receive the optimal peeling treatment, resulting in a more consistent end product and maximum yield. Its gentle grading process minimizes product damage while maintaining a continuous throughput. The Revolver peeler CRR removes the peel from carrot pieces using an abrasive peeling process that combines high efficiency with gentle product handling. As the carrots rotate through the machine, they are peeled evenly on all sides, creating a smooth, uniform surface while minimizing product loss. This controlled process helps maximize yield and ensures a consistent product quality. The Inspection table LT provides operators with an ergonomic workstation to inspect baby carrots before they move to the final stages of the production process. Damaged, misshapen, or off-spec products can be removed quickly and efficiently, ensuring only high-quality carrots continue through the line. The conveyor is designed for a smooth and continuous product flow, giving operators a clear view of the product while maintaining processing efficiency. By combining effective manual inspection with a hygienic design, the LT helps improve final product quality and supports the consistent production of premium baby carrots.
